16:30 -18:00 Afternoon Tea

Martyn is back in Wigton for three workshops and the option of sharing afternoon tea together afterwards at the beautiful Greenhill Hotel.

Martyn has seen how yoga has helped keep his body supple while gaining strength and endurance, physically and mentally, bringing about an overall sense of well-being and peace. Yoga helps us work towards balance in every aspect of our lives and we will explore this through all workshops, making the most of the strengths you have to deepen your experience of your body and bring awareness and control where needed.

Martyn also works as a counsellor, interweaving the amazing emotional and psychological benefits yoga provides theoretically and practically to help bring about peace of mind, confidence, self belief and transformation.

- In the first workshop Martyn will share with you the physical benefits of yoga for building strength in the core and upper body as well as releasing tension in the shoulders. Our shoulders need this balance of strength and openness to work most effectively to reduce the physical demands of modern life.

- In the second workshop Martyn will guide you through a full Hatha Raja practice, great for bringing about peace in the body, mind and spirit. The practice starts with subtle breathing practices to calm the mind, invigorate the body and energize the chakras, as well as healing mantras (sound vibrations) to stimulate the pituitary gland and subtle consciousness. Following this, the asana flow stretches, tones and strengthens the entire physical body with a particular focus on opening the heart chakra. After all that effort you will experience a final guided meditation in deep relaxation – a yoga nidra to recharge and rejuvenate the entire physical and mental system.

- In the final workshop Martyn has invited Rowan Carr to guide you on a journey of extended meditation and therapeutic relaxation. The previous workshops open up the flow of energy to create a body-mind state for change and healing. Once in this receptive state, the sound of the gong is used to create an extended state of meditation and therapeutic relaxation that moves energy in the body for healing.

Because it affects the emotional sheath of the body, the sound of the gong can bring about various emotional releases, especially when heard the first several times. Crying or laughing may be common, as well as transient anxiety, fear, love or bliss as emotional reorganisation is brought about by the sound of the gong. It truly is a wonderful way to experience the healing you need, whether that be body, mind or spirit.

Rowan introduces himself here:

"Namaste All in the One & One in the All, to explain a little bit about myself & practice is a privilege I hope to honour in the following words. All that I am, and offer, is fully rooted in absolute awareness. I meditate and teach meditation for the pure joy of timelessly arriving at the core of my being. From this space, I have embraced Holistic Resonance, in the forms of Gongs and Himalayan Singing Bowls, into my offerings as a meditation teacher and sound Mystic. Silence is my foundation, but pulsation, and vibration, are the expressions of my limitless manifestation. In any offering my intention is, simply, to invite beings into the fullness of themselves through these mediums. Diligent recognition of silence and carefully crafted holistic resonance brings you home, a place of rest, peace and wholeness. True wellbeing. I am humbled to be in service to the few for the benefit of the many. Let it be for a blessing. Hari Om."

The whole day is suitable for absolute beginners as well as experienced practitioners looking for a different take on yoga and its vast physical, emotional and spiritual benefits, presented in a fun, warm and genuine way.
